Our project autoBat has been selected for funding through Grüne Gründungen.NRW, a funding competition supported by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the European Union. The programme supports early-stage companies in the environmental economy as they develop and validate innovative prototypes.
On September 9, 2026, our founder Jannik Bühring received the official funding notice at an event in Düsseldorf. The event brought together founders, project partners and policymakers working to advance environmental and climate technologies in North Rhine-Westphalia. It was also a valuable opportunity for Jannik to present leitspalt, exchange ideas with other founders and connect with people from the region’s innovation ecosystem.
In the course of the project, we will develop an automated pre-development environment for battery packs. It combines geometric, thermal, electrical and structural models in one workflow to optimize battery packs for any requirement from automotive to drones to maritime. This enables leitspalt to compress development cycles, while eliminating design trade-offs that plague traditional battery architectures. We will validate the environment through a prototype and work towards making early battery pack development more efficient and better informed.
